rope runner
Hi there, I hope someone can help, I'm looking for some on-line reference pictures of the 0-4-0ST Pecketts used at Normandy Park, Scunthorpe. As far as I can tell they are simply standard gauge, with the frames pushed togeather... I have only been able to find one so far, Any pictures of the narrow-gauge stock (Ingot cars, slag ladles?) would also be appreciated. *Mods, feel free to move this as I know it is not strictly standard gauge, but i figured the users of this page would be the most likely to answer this Thanks very much Paul A. halfwit
'Steam on the Narrow Gauge', Industrial Locomotive Society, published by David & Charles 1965 has a photo of two 3' gauge Pecketts(?) at Normandy on the cover. Some casting cars can also be seen.
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted February 10, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 10, 2012 I believe it should be Normanby (not Normandy) - that's where we used to send a trainload of coke every week back in the '70s.

Adam
I think some of the pictures in this Flickr gallery are what you are after. Yes, there are standard gauge types here too, but definitely at least one 3' gauge machine. This one - which might well be the picture you've found, but you didn't specify - for example: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62259576@N03/5665425083/in/photostream Adam

I have found some additional photogrpahs in my Eric Tonks Rutland area Iron ore book - it appears 3 of them were sent to cottesmore mines after there closure of the Normanby Park system. Thanks very much though, Paul A.
