Rick_Skateboard
Hello All. I've got a Hornby sound fitted 08 shunter and I want to fit an Express Models lighting kit to it. I've done one before on an 8 pin decoder, but this model is a 21 pin and I can't see any spare wires to go to the lighting kit. There are a couple of spare take-off on the PCB, so maybe they are for having wires added? But what about the return? I used to go off the colours, but all the wires on this model are black! Any help would be great! Rick
Rick_Skateboard
I've looked into this online and I now think I have to solder wires to the pins of the decoder plug on the locos PCB? Looking at the loksound manual it seems pin 7 is the rear light (old yellow), pin 8 is the headlight (old white), pin 15 is AUX1 (old green), pin 14 is AUX2 (old purple) and pin 16 is the common + (old blue). Hopefully someone will be able to confirm this is right? Thanks, Rick
AMJ
See the pin outs for the 21 pin decoders on this page on here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/22518-cab-lights-which-pins-on-the-21pin-decoder/
Rick_Skateboard
Thanks for that. I wanted to check before taking an iron to the loco's PCB! I'll have a go tonight. Rick
