Theakerr
Trying today to get my Bachmann J39 to run half decently for the nth time, where n is a large number, I noticed that all of the three plastic wheel joiners have cracks in them. Time to bite the bullet and get a new chassis. Would appreciate feedback from anyone who has built the Comet Chassis and feedback on any other chassis that are available. FYI, I have built a number of loco kits before and consider myself to have average skills. Thanks. Just found the SE Finecast chassis so would appreciate feedback on it as well. Curious re the price difference between the two different kits.
Silver Sidelines
You could always buy some replacement nylon joiners direct from Bachmann, for not a lot of money. Ray
Porco Rosso
I have built the Comet kit in OO. It is highly recommended.
David Bigcheeseplant
There is also the Dave Bradwell chassis, I think there was a review in an MRJ way back when. David
micklner
Mine runs better with a drop of WD40 , never had a problem with it since. The plastic muffs are a couple of quid., get them direct from Bachmann spares dept.
RMweb Premium Welly Posted March 4, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 4, 2012 There is also the Dave Bradwell chassis, I think there was a review in an MRJ way back when. But the Dave Bradwell chassis is designed for P4 gauge rather than OO gauge.
bluex5
The Comet chassis is fine but it doesn't include the lubricator which is driven off the centre driver.

I do have a Dave Bradwell chassis kit to P4 a Bachy J39 which in original OO form is a split chassis with wobbly wheels!
