billtee
You know those (quartered) red and white limited clearance warning signs? Well, how big are they? I've seen them, but travelling past them at 140mph on a Pendalino doesn't give you much time to take down details! All the best, Bill
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted March 7, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 7, 2012 You know those (quartered) red and white limited clearance warning signs? Well, how big are they? All the best, Bill I take it this is what you mean (page 11)? http://www.rgsonline.co.uk/Railway_Group_Standards/Infrastructure/Railway%20Group%20Standards/GCRT5203%20Iss%202.pdf And after a bit of searching - here are the dimensions (page 146) and I claim no special kudos for leading 'contemporary scene' modellers to this particular goldmine of a cornucopia of detail information for plastering their linesides with every sign known to modern (railway)man - http://www.rgsonline.co.uk/Railway_Group_Standards/Control%20Command%20and%20Signalling/Railway%20Group%20Standards/GIRT7033%20Iss%201.pdf
billtee
Many thanks, Stationmaster! It took a while to find, but now I know - the minimum size is 300mm x 300mm in full size. This equates to 4mm square as makes no difference! This seems a bit small, but remember that these dimensions are minimum dimensions, and although I don't want to plaster my layout with Health and Safety warning signs everywhere, they would certainly be on the sides of the entrances to engine sheds and other places where workmen would walk, and we don't want to get our staff run over by our model locomotives, do we? Thank you again for, as you state, a cornucopia of signs - I could spend AGES just looking through them, even if I'd never use 99% of them! All the very best, Bill
