Sir Madog Posted April 14, 2012 Share Posted April 14, 2012 After having prepared a number of track plans for a Swiss friend of mine, the bug of building a Rhaetian Railway themed layout has bitten me! Unfortunately, there is only very little room for such a layout, not more than those 84" by 16", with may be a detachable cassette for staging on one of the sides. I am looking for layout suggestions, if possible following a fiddle yard to station to fiddle yard concept. My brain appears to be empty ... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
chb1988 Posted May 28, 2012 Share Posted May 28, 2012 An easy way to model the RhB in restricted space is to look at lines with shorter trains, e.g. the Arosa line, the Bernina line (with the exception of the namesake express) or the Bellinzona Mesocco line (where scratch building will be required). Also remember that trains used to be much shorter in the past. As for the track plan, a stretch of single line between two tunnel mouths comes to mind.
