Mike Sheardown
Hi, I recently acquired this part built model building: It came with a layout I've just acquired, and was under the baseboard, very damp and going moldy. I've gently cleaned it up a bit, and now it's slowly drying out in my attic, before I have a go at restoring and finishing it. What I'd like to know, is whether anyone recognises it as an actual building (possibly in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire or Yorkshire???), and also some detail about what it was used for and how. My guess is that it's a limestone quarry stone crusher / screening plant, with stone from the quarry coming in on the higher level via a narrow gauge line and in tipper wagons. However, for these just to be unloaded into the hopper shute at the end for loading of standard gauge wagons running through the lower doorway, seems too simplistic to me?? So I'm also not sure what all the other parts of the building(s) were used for???? Thanks in advance for your help Best wishes Mike
