ian carville
Hello. I have the Hornby class 87 loco. The loco is in br blue livery and is named britania and is numbered 87004. I would like to renumber the 87 number 87001 and call it stephenson. Also i would like to improve the detail and remove some of the cables in the front as 87s no longer have some of these. How could i do this. I have never improved a model and i dont have alot of money to do this. Thanks.
NickL2008
Hi- they can be carved away using a sharp knife blade. Once removed smooth over the "scars" that are left by the moulded on cables using some fine sandpaper, then some Wet and dry paper NL

Pugsley
Replica sell the later high intensity headlights, which were retro-fitted to the 87s in later years. You can also get them from Shawplan. HTH
Mike at C&M
One thing to remember from when it still wore BR Blue, 87.001 had the cabisde numbers about half way down the panel below the cab window, rather than immediately below the cab window. Don't know if I have a picture that might illustrate this.
