Albyn
I acquired this nice little loco about 10 years ago. It once belonged to the late Les Spratt, a Colonel Stephens enthusiast. I have photographed it with a Dapol Hunslet saddle tank to show the size. It seems similar to some Hudswell Clarkes or the Hawthorn Leslie locomotives that Stephens considered for his railways, such as "AS Harris" for the PD&SWJR, later part of the SR.but none seem the same The kit has an etched brass chassis, whitemetal footplate and part of boiler but brass side tanks and cab. I wonder if it was made to use up spare bits from some other conversion, but whoever made it went to a lot of trouble to carve up the boiler to fit. Does anybody have any ideas please[attachment? =170583:mystery loco 3.jpg]

Fat Controller
Both the Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr and the Burry Port and Gwendreath Valley Railways had similar-looking engines.
37255
Can't add anything constructive that hasn't already been suggested, but if you ever want to sell it, please get in touch! EDIT: ACTUALLY... The cab (and to a lesser extent the safety valves too) look a little bit Robert Stephenson (ie pre-dating the Hawthorn merger) - slightly similar to http://www.flickr.com/photos/mattya7x/6181838183/ ... But I'm not sure if they were on to outside cylinders at the time.
