15 December 2009 - Launching the GSW&WWRMRG!!

It's very strange a small group build one layout outside a club environment and then the bug bites and another one is started and another one is promised.....before you know it the layout output is exceeding that of many clubs. Then the question is asked "are we actually a club?"

And then the eventual answer is "probably".

So what about a name for the club.... Well the three 'members' interests and layouts include the Withered Arm in the late 50s / early 60s; class 50s and a certain Cornish shed that served the clay mining area near St Austell; and strangely American steam in the days of the American wild west!

The end result is the launching of the 'Great South West and Wild West Revolutionary MRG'. A group of three nutters (Chris, Damian and John) with diverse interests but complimentary skills.

The layouts we have or are building are:

Treneglos - First exhibited in February 2003 and seen around the country at 20+ shows. The group's North Cornwall Railway layout in 00.

Diesels in the Duchy - Under construction and due to be exhibited in Stafford (Feb 2010) and Wadebridge (Oct 2010). A shed scene based on St Blazey in EM.

Once upon a Time in the West - In the planning stage but committed to its first show in February 2011. Think client Eastwood and spaghetti westerns in HO.
