michaelp
Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the wheels from the bogies of a Bachmann Class 37? One set of wheels seems to be binding causing the loco not to run too smoothly. Michael
blueeighties
Hi Michael. Yes, its pretty straightforward. Clip the bogie sideframes off, then you can get to the wheels to remove them. They are secured to the geartrain housing by brass bushes...they simply pull out. Its a good idea to remove the inevitable excess grease, and check/clean the pickups while you are at it. Which particular loco are you having an issue with? Some of the Bach 37's had poor gear trains, and were very rough. I had one myself, no amount of fettling would sort it out. In the end I swapped its bogies. Cheers, Lee.
michaelp
Hi Lee, Thanks for your reply, the loco is the Bachmann/CL37L Group 37003 limited edition model, I only took delivery of this model a couple of day's ago and think any repair is not really down to me. I've contacted the seller re: problem but I'm not sure which way this is going to go at the moment. Michael
