SXHALL
Hi all, Have seen that a site in Ashby de la Zouch is to be re-developed with a rail connected warehouse. It is a big 'shed' being some 850,00 square feet, imagine what we could fit in there! Thing is curiosity of a Southern lad has me wondering what was it used for before? I have linked to Google (I Hope) on the link below to see. There are two sidings and some concreted areas but not much else. Link to Google maps Thanks for reading, and hopefully answering! Fat Controller
Could it be the site of Rawdon colliery? There's nothing obvious on Quail, which suggests whatever it is has been out of use for some time, but my 1980 Baker atlas shows the pit in about the right place.
