roythebus
Apologies in advance for mentioning the "O" word here, but today the RHDR helped shift hundreds of spectators from Romney to Hythe to see the Olympic torch pass through. They operated a 15 minute headway service which neccesitated a temporary block section being installed at The Willop to enable the 15 minute headway service to run. The OM at New Romney reckoned Hythe station was "like Charing Cross on New Year's Eve"!! It's also the RHDR's 85th birthday this week.
298
If I've fathomed the timetable out correctly, they must have used six rakes of coaches....?

roythebus
My lodger confirms the 6 train service for the Torch P+R service. The slightly shorter sets helped with loading and station dwell times, with the most "lost time" being 4 minutes on one train. Not bad eh?
