Some years ago Desmond Coakham wrote some articles about the above area and a friend kindly made photocopies of them. Recently I went to find the copies and cannot locate them and I fear that they may have ended up in some recycling in error. I think that the articles were in British Railway Journal but may have been in Railway Bylines. Note that I have a copy of the article on the area by Steven Oakden that appeared in Railway Bylines Volume 3 Issue 1. Eggesford box Posted July 22, 2012 Share Posted July 22, 2012 Not a great help to your question I know but a former colleague who used to work in that neck of the woods told me of an occurence where the signalman at Branches Fork appeared out of the box naked, shouting that he was radioactive!
