Dogegg Posted July 26, 2012 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I have a few rookie questions: 1. Can I mix Nickel silver rails with steel rails? Apart from the difference in looks, (which I'm not bothered about as the Nickel silver part of the track is 'off-scene') is there some electrical/chemical reason why this is or isn't advisable? 2. Only about 1.5 metres of three tracks will be visible in the foreground of the layout, and I wanted this track to be SMP/Exactoscale/C&L in oo gauge. Can I join them to cheaper peco code 75 'off scene' without too much trouble? I'm not too worried about height difference, as I can jack up the join so it's smooth... 3. Are there any manufacturers of steel railed turnouts? I gather Peco's are all Nickel Silver (turnout kits are too expensive to contemplate right now) I'm just thinking the look of steel track is what I'm after... taa much Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
