signalmaintainer
I was just leaving the shop this aftertoon when this beauty stood out across main at the north end of the car shop! I do believe it's one of our old caboose that was still in BN colors, now given a replendent Great Northern livery. I hope to see it more around Seattle! Sorry for the poor quality -- I snapped it with my phone.
298
I've seen it discussed on a yahoo group, although no-one seems to know what it is as the real GN X234 is preserved in Montana. Some more photos here: http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33642 It'd be good to see some more Heritage repaints from BNSF, even if they're only on other Cabooses. signalmaintainer
It's almost certainly not an original GN caboose -- I'd opt for a Frisco holdover perhaps. I, too, would like to see more heritage units on our rails. In some ways we do but only by default, what with many older GE and EMD units still in pre-merger Santa Fe and Burlington Northern schemes.
