Theakerr
My new K3 does not have any front steps and the various Bachmann "official" pictures show it without front steps. However, all the pictures I have show that the K3 did indeed have front steps. Question 1, should I have received a set of front steps in the detailing package - there are small holes indicating something should fit under the footplate and question 2, can anyone suggest a source of said front steps? Guest Max Stafford
There were no steps provided with the model, surprisingly. I could use some steps for mine myself. Dave.
Markeg
I found that Mainly Trains has a brass etch kit or you could try some Hornby B1 steps from a spares supplier, such as Peterspares on ebay for GBP 3.20 a set. Mark
Theakerr
I did get (sort of on spec) a set of the LMS and the parallel steps from Mainly Trains when I was "fixing" the cartazi axle box on my V2's. Neither were really satisfactory for the V2 and would not be satisfactory for the K3. I did not try a set of the GWR tender brake steps. If anyone has a picture of these it would nice to see. I was sort of thinking about the B1 steps as I soon will have a spare pair when I replace an old split chassis B1
