RMweb Premium cornelius Posted September 17, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 17, 2012 Hello, An acquaintance of mine has been taking photos from the footbridge at Plumpton station on the railway between Haywards Heath and Lewes for the past year as part of a charity art project. http://plumptonmornings.tumblr.com/ He recently found a Victorian photo of the station showing the bridge he's been using, and wondered if a similar historial view from the bridge existed. I know there are a number of books or pictorial albums that cover this line but I don't have them myself - can anyone with them to hand provide a good reference to look at? From his point of view the interesting thing is how many more trees there are now, but any other historical nuggets would be appreciated. Thanks! trisonic
The "trees" thing is also most noticeable in the North East, USA. Whole vistas have disappeared due to increased vegetation (mainly trees) in comparison with 100 year old shots of the same scene. Best, Pete.
