Broken link

Just clicked on the "Like" button on a image in the Gallery (I don't visit there often but was tempted)

Specifically this photo http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/42321-81c-southall-mpd-28-03-1964/

Wishing to express my appreciation of it and it being posted I clicked on the "Like" button. I expected to be returned to the same page just the same way as when I "Like" any post in any topic.

But no, the page reloaded was http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/3593-idle-speculation-and-the-Hornby-announcement/page__st__200__p__42321#entry42321

A totally unrelated topic and dropped into the middle of it despite having not visited it before. Thinking this an unpleasant experience i went back and "unliked" the image - same result - same topic I'm still not interested in. This is repeatable and it always takes me in to post #217

After trying this with another image

The same thing happens - this time it takes me to topic http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/5179-Bachmann-class-40-running-quality-issue/page__p__42340#entry42340 post #6 - it seems pretty good at identifying topics I have not visited and have little interest in.

Seems OK for me at this end; have you broken something else? ;)

More than likely. :D It really doesn't make any sense. But is remarkably consistent in action, always taking me off to some random topic - and to a post in that topic as if I had previously viewed it. The topic totally unrelated to the image. This only seems to be happening to the "Like" button on gallery images. Elsewhere it simply refreshes the page returning me to the "liked" post in the topic.

In theory this cannot be a javascript issue as javascript is always off - therefore if it was a javascripted button - as the infamous "follow this topic" button it wouldn't work at all. Once again an issue of what should be the same programming object using the same coded routine being coded twice in different ways - but heh no surprise there.

On closer examination of the parameterised url on the button

http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=reputation&do=add_rating&app_rate=gallery&type=id&type_id=42321&rating=1&secure_key=0404091af8612b20f15a7a221fe77c37&post_return=42321

Take particular note of the end of th parameter list:

post_return=42321

It is no coincidence that the page returned has the following url

http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/3593-idle-speculation-and-the-Hornby-announcement/page__st__200__p__42321#entry42321

Note in particular

p__42321#entry42321.

Evidently somewhere the return to information is being applied incorrectly in the case of a gallery image "Like" and the topic post and entry returned with that id number rather than the gallery image. This is the same with every example so far.

As no one else is seeing this phenomenon I can only assume that there is some javascript overwriting the standard methodology for the button which is redirecting to the correct location for those who do not block javascript. Another programming faux-pas.
