RandyWales
Hi again I was looking for some basic electronics resources and found the Concord Portal http://concord.org/sparks/virtual-electronics/ There are FREE labs, videos, interactive tests etc etc I'm not an expert... so perhaps someone with expertise could evaluate whether this resouce would be useful to forum members. From what I can make out, pupils can register for the resources, and have their activities monitored by a nominated teacher.... Is there an expert out there on RMWEB willing to be a volunteer mentor on a members course? regards Randall
RMweb Gold SHMD Posted October 23, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 23, 2012 I had a quick look, (a couple o minutes only), but there didn't seem to be any obvious errors. It looks like a nice 'clean' way of learning the behaviour of passive components and some fundamental building blocks of electronics. (You will need lots in your repertoire!) It's not hands on though. The same measurements would be peppered with shorts, open circuits, intermittent contacts, dirt, etc which all add to learning to wield a real multi-meter. I think it might be a bit to quick, convenient, 'easy' and thus easily forgettable too. Spending several hours fault finding an unexpected result really does help you remember the lesson well! In short – good background – but you will still need 'hands on' as well. Kev.
