I came across this DVD whilst taking a break from Christmas shopping.

.

I'm told it is produced privately.

 

Conclusion ........very good, with a number of locations that haven't been filmed previously, and whilst passenger workings predominate (slightly) not all of the footage is taken up by passenger workings.

e.g.

The Cl.37 hauled 'Ferryvans' on the night timed Margam - Rhymney steel coil trains seen from Bargoed 'box.

.

MGR workings at Cwmbargoed D.P. / Nelson indluding the shortlived triple-headed 37s from Aberthaw - Cwmbargoed.

.

Cl.58 hauled Westbury - Cwmbargoed stone workings at places such as the 'Three Arches' in Llanishen, Cardiff.

.

The odd Cl.56 also.

.

I did like the shots of 'down' Rhymney passenger workings leaving the south end of Caerphilly Tunnel and approaching Lisvane & Thornhill passing Cefn Onn.

.

Worth every penny of ??14.99 (but don't take my word for it, splash your Christmas money) ...... and I believe there may be others in the pipeline, shot at other valleys locations.
