ash39
After discovering 15-year old Lima paint doesn't like T-cut, a simple renumbering job has become a partial/full bodyside repaint job. Two locos as well! Not impressed, but anyway. I have some 'railfreight grey' railmatch paint, which I previously used to paint a shed (scale not full size!), but this looks to be red-stripe style railfreight grey as it is too dark for both sections on the 92, when compared side by side. Ideally, I'd like a perfect match for the lima particularly on the bottom half so I don't lose all the printed detail showing the service points etc. The top half isnt so critical. What will the colours be listed as in Railmatch/Phoenix's ranges? I can't see anything for triple grey, unless i'm missing something! Cheers

ash39
Ah excellent, cheers for that! I think you might be right. Well the roof and yellow ends are ok, but the sides need redoing for sure.
ash39
For info, I did the first loco over the last couple of nights. The rail grey is a perfect match for the lima model, I sprayed it all as that's how I'd masked it off, but on the next one I'll do a localised touch up. Flint grey is a bit less bluey than the Lima model, but I reckon it's more accurate. I'm spraying the whole of these anyway as I want to add the later style overhead warning flashes, so no bother.
