Respite
According to the works photographs here: http://www.banklands...ive gallery.htm it was BRISTOWE HILL the side tank that was fitted with vacuum brakes. Yes you are right Phil. I shouldn't have responded without spending a bit more time checking the photo. Anyway there we have it, a dumb buffered inside cylinder 0-4-0 side tank with vacuum brakes! RMweb Premium Lambton58 Posted December 12, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 12, 2012 Have a look at the Industrial Railway Society's site http://www.irsociety.co.uk/ - I can't get the direct link, but go to the I.R. Record Archives link in the box on the left hand side, then Index of Back Issues, then No 25 June 1969, pages 80 -82 - Picture Parade and prepare to be mildly amazed! MarcD
Very cute! Thanks for the additional info. Tony The Furness also had four 0-4-0st built for them in the 1860s by sharp stewart these were still running in 1918. These were and off the peg design that would have been sold around the world. I'm currently scrach building one for my own layout
