fender
seems its max axle weight was about the same as a Castle's but I was wondering if they actually used that one (Victor Wild) all the way into Cornwall? I've also read about Coronations being used on the Cornish Riviera Express in the 50s, but at that weight (22 tons-ish) I assume they would have stopped at Plymouth. Rods_of_Revolution
I'm seem to recall it only ran between Paddington and Portsmouth, though I could be wrong. Would be interesting to know! Cheers, Jack
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 7, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 7, 2012 According to the train notices it only ran between Paddington and Plymouth (which would in any case have been the normal engine working).
