Theakerr
Does anyone know of a DVD covering station announcements circa 1960. Those of us of an age will remember the very distinctive sound (Tannoy?) with its echoes of a well spoken lady announcing the next train arriving in platform 1 is the 10:15 to Doncaster, York and Newcastle. I would love to get something that replicates that sound and use it as background when I have people over to see New Waltham. FYI I live in Canada so it is not a case of going to a show and talking to people. Thanks
10800
There is one on the BFi British Transport DVD Volume 1 'On and off the rails' that contains the film 'This is York' as I recall, there are probably some others scattered around the same series. It may even be on YouTube.
