colward51
Have brought 4 of these kits off eBay and whilst they are building nicely, all 4 kits are missing the screws to secure the internal weights & couplers Can anyone advise what size screws I need to complete the kits? HeavyDuty
I'm pretty sure they are 2-56, let me pull one out and check.
HeavyDuty
My memory is shot. The truck screws are approximately the OD of a 2-56 but have a much coarser selftapping thread. The coupler box cover screws are the same diameter but shorter. However, on some of mine I have replaced the supplied screws with 2-56, they will work with no issues. The threaded portion of the coupler box cover screws is about 3mm long. My good micrometer has gone temporary walkabout, but I can track it down if you need more exact measurements. I don't have any unassembled kits left, so I'm afraid that I am of no use on the weight retainers - sorry.
doctor quinn
If you're in the UK, 8BA brass screws are probably more easily obtained from the likes of Eileen's Emporium. Nick

HeavyDuty
I've built several dozen of these cars - for me, it works best to build them in batches rather than one at a time. They are a little fiddly in places but make up to an attractive car.
