Jeremy Clements, the author, states the book started out as a history of the Dean Goods but developed it to include the other Dean locomotives and his influence and legacy on the GWR. The book contains details of Dean Goods in military service. It also deals with the 0-6-0 class locomotives absorbed by the GWR in 1923. Well written with many photos and information.
