Fettster42
Hi, I am planning building a Smalbrook puck, using the new Hornby pug chassis. I would like to change the wheels to spoked and re-gear it for better slow running. I had picked out some items from the Alan Gibson catalogue, but then found a topic saying that new Hornby chassis use 3mm axles, not 1/8" which are the size if the Gibson axles. Then I found another saying it had 2.5mm axles! Which is correct (not bought it yet, still in the planning/pricing stage)? If they are not 1/8" axles, where could I get suitable replacement wheels with correct sized axles? Or failing that would it be practical to open out the axle holes for the bigger axles? How would I go about this? Thanks Leigh
Greengiant
Check out the High Level Kits Pug replacement chassis, comes with 108:1 gearbox, save a lot of aggravation. http://www.highlevelkits.co.uk Martin
Fettster42
Hi Martin, I was aware of the high level kit, but having never built a chassis before and wanting to get a narrow gauge layout running without too much hassle I was not planning on using it.
