michaelp
I've noticed on quite a few photos of 21 ton hopper wagons that some handrails are bent quite badly out of shape, what would cause this damage to the handrails?
DigitalGraham
They've probably been damaged through loading/unloading, if they've had tarpaulins over the top and strapped down using the handrails, possibly during loose/hump shunting if they run into another wagon and the handrail becomes detached and then need repairs ... There are many reasons why and I'm sure more knowledagble people than myself will shed more light.
