RSS Fetcher Posted December 30, 2009 Share Posted December 30, 2009 This conversion starts with the Bachmann Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0. I had fitted new bogie wheels and sprayed it plain black with some weathering going off a photo of one on Lees shed in the early 1950's. However, it seemed to me more important t have a decent running and detailed push-pull fitted Ivatt 2-6-2T, and as Bachmann seem in no hurry to upgrade this tank, I decided to scrap the 2-6-0, or at least use much of it to convert my 2-6-2T. 2-6-2T conversion..... A simple conversion of putting the tank body on the 2-6-0 chassis is relatively straightforward, but I wanted to incorporate the much improved smokebox, chimney and dome on the 2-6-0 body.
