mjcampbell
That's a cracking job on Sketchup, I've had a play on there before and while it is reasonably intuitive, it certainly isn't easy to draw something to that level of detail! Now you just need to build it...
alanbuttler
Thanks Michael. I can send you a copy of the .SKP file if you like - its still a little rough around the edges (the component naming convention soon went out the window!), but it might be of some use. The tool I found the most useful was Push/Pull - for all the supports, cladding, beams, floor, roof etc. Was almost like virtual lego using a kind of 'tool box' of pre-made bits and pieces. alanbuttler
After a few weeks of inactivity I managed to get a couple of ours spent on track laying this evening. The down mainline is now laid, but when ordering all the components from C&L I completely forgot about even roughly estimating how many chairs I'd need, and so only have enough left for about half the up line! . I might as well start weathering the track whilst I wait for a resupply!
