jch17937
Dear Friends I have seen a nice small loco Coarse Scale 7mm made by Along Classic Lines. It would suit my layout but I wonder how can it be converted to Finescale to run on Peco code 124 track?
HSB
PECO track is to "Universal" standards (not Finescale) and supposedly can accept both Fine and Coarse wheel standards.
PatB
I can confirm, from direct personal experience, that Peco code 124 track will happily accept anything up to late Hornby tinplate plastic wheelsets in terms of coarseness. IIRC, the crude Hornby profile tended to be a little rough through Peco points but didn't actually cause problems. Lima and Triang wheel standards (both probably coarser than BRMSB coarse scale) were perfectly OK.
KTM
I've been rather taken by than 2-6-0 N class made by Bassett Lowke but I fear the cost & work involved in converting it to 'scaler' appearance might not be worth it. On the other hand, I could simply remove my glasses. Job done! Jon
jch17937
Thanks - so they will run through points (switches) ok?
RMweb Gold Donw Posted February 19, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 19, 2013 Some peco turnouts have adjusters on the check rails which is handy if you have old locos. Don
