REC Farnborough Posted March 7, 2013 Share Posted March 7, 2013 Were you a member of the Railway Enthusiasts Club Farnborough, or do you know anyone who was? 2013 marks the 'Diamond Jubilee' of the formation of the Club. We cannot afford a 'River Pageant with music' - and in any case the Blackwater is a little shallow, but to mark the occasion we will be holding 'Open House' at the clubroom facilities on Sunday 7th July between 2pm & 8pm. All current and past members are welcome and light refreshments will be available. To those who havce not been to the club since it's days opposite Farnborough station, the 'new' clubhut is off Hawley Lane (travelling west it's signposted just before the M3 bridge) - full directions are on the club website at www.rec-farnborough.org.uk. Blessed with excellent weather, the clubroom rapidly filled with members past & present, until we had over 70 people in the clubroom. Many had travelled long distances to be there and we are grateful to them for making the effort.
