Michael Woolford
Could someone please explain to me how points are numbered, I have a terminus station that is set post WW2 and would like to add some identification plates. Did the way they were identified vary depending on which company it was or was there a 'standard approach' back then? I am modelling LMS with a bit of GWR thrown in as well. The trackwork itself is going to be of the LMS type as this is the main company operating at this particular station. This station never actually existed but I think that if you want something to look right then the best place to start is with the prototype.Thanks. AMJ
The number relates to the number of the lever in the signal box. Similarly with signals, facing point locks etc.
