Side Project No.2 - ABS 0 Gauge wagon kit

So this is Side Project No.2 (No.1 can be found here... http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/69883-side-project-no1-tunnel-mouths-in-n/).

The club I joined some months ago has, among other layouts, a large 0 gauge roundy-roundy (plus branch under construction) and I've often thought it would be nice to have at least something to put on the track... then back in January at my local show there was a stall with an ABS wagon kit for £7.50 - well, I couldn't refuse, could I?

Here's the result...

 

 

 

It's a GWR 5 plank Diag. O23

 

The kit generally went together very well, except I had to modify the brake gear and attach it to a sub-base, instead of soldering into the back of the sole bar, otherwise it wouldn't have lined up with the wheels and also would've been too low. As a result I had to make up my own floor, as the supplied one was rather flimsy.

 

It will eventually be finished in BR livery (if that's the right word for weathered wood and rust...)
