edcayton
I'm toying with the idea of a Paul Lunn-type 6x4 urban line, but using an MPD with turn-table as a high level scenic break so I can play with the big engines! I know that Stuart's (sp?) Lane was an MPD below high level lines on viaduct, but was wondering if there was a prototype for the opposite. Thanks Ed

AngryMeerkat
Allerton TMD could be similar, the line to Hunts Cross is certainly in a cutting but not sure if it is level or below the TMD. The actual TMD is level with the WCML as it passes through Allerton Station, which I believe is now renamed to South Liverpool Parkway. Mark
RMweb Premium HillsideDepot Posted April 12, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 12, 2013 Not quite what you're thinking of Ed, but a similar sort of thing was Tinsley Diesel Depot above the cutting at one end of the marshalling yard. Another one where the depot was higher than the running line (albeit a freight-only branch) was Sunderland South Dock. Neither exactly what you're looking for, but certainly having a depot at a higher level than running lines isn't impossible. Adrian
pH
St. Rollox - almost surrounded by lines at a lower level than the shed yard.
Rivercider
Holyhead is another location where the depot is higher than the adjacent running lines though possibly not by as much as you need. cheers
Mike 84C
How about Monument Lane on the NW side of B.ham New street?
Nickinwestwales
Hi Ed-on a practical note-remember to leave enough clearance for any turntable underboard gubbins ATB
sammyboy
This is just the kind of layout bi-level plan I want on my N gauge layout with the shed above the main lines & station in a cutting!
