"A" box at the north end of the station is fairly typical of SR 1930s style, but "B" box at the south is much older. Pete 75C Posted May 23, 2013 Share Posted May 23, 2013 I know Merstham box was in use til early 1983 when taken over by Redhill "A" box. Three Bridges Signalling Centre opened in (I think) 1985, rendering both Redhill "A" and "B" boxes redundant. "B" box is a South Eastern Railway design but the ugly brick base was apparently added during the war. As for demolition, I would have thought soon after they were taken out of use, but an exact date would be a guess, sorry.
