Robert McGee
Hello, I have heard and read that this is the best place to buy models and useful things in Huddersfield. My only concern is that I don't know where it is, I have looked on the map, and can't find it, also asked online, looked on google maps. So basically, all I would like is directions. RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted May 31, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 31, 2013 Hi Robert, Yes - it can be a bit awkward to find - but easy to get to! https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Wood+St,+Huddersfield,+West+Yorkshire+HD1,+United+Kingdom&hl=en&ll=53.646897,-1.781912&spn=0.001019,0.00305&sll=53.64521,-1.800989&sspn=0.032613,0.097589&oq=Wood+Street+Huddersfield&geocode=FdebMgMdBs7k_w&hnear=Wood+St,+Huddersfield,+West+Yorkshire+HD1,+United+Kingdom&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=53.646909,-1.781776&panoid=bt_wqbEsassxIa6JZtcu5A&cbp=12,328.53,,0,1.45 Start at the junction of John William Street, Kirkgate and Westgate. Go down Kirkgate till you are outside the Coral bookies shop. Wood street is directly opposite. Thanks

plarailfan
Just go past the McDonalds entrance and Wood street is on the left and something wicked, is just on the left as you go round the corner. They sell a lot of Airfix kits, paint and some wargaming stuff, as well as trains. There are some N gauge and OO items, but it is mostly at recommended retail (full) price and last time I was in there, they still had some original Farish N gauge class 47's from 20-odd years ago, but marked up with current Bachmann Farish prices.... The staff are helpful and friendly, so do I buy some bits and pieces there, but if they don't have what I'm looking for, the nearest shop (for a good range of NEW railway models, etc,) I'm aware of, is probably Frizinghall, at Bradford.
