gjpope
I bought a DCC engine on Ebay. It ran about once round the circuit and then stopped and hasn't moved since. (Forget contacting the ebay seller its all a year ago and there were other complcations.) Any ideas what may be wrong with it? Glyn
neal
The is a question which might get a better reaction if posted in DCC questions and queries forum! Could be a number of issues, wheel/track cleanliness being a good starting point. Can you 'read' the decoders CV's on programming track/main? GoingUnderground
Are you running it on DC or DCC? If it's DC then check the pickups are clean etc, the usual stuff. However I had that happen to a Hornby Terrier into which I had fitted the early decoder the R8215. One minute it was running fine on DCC, the next minute nothing. For some reason it had forgotten its address, I think it might have overheated as it was doing circuits at a show. The cure was to reprogram CV1 with the address. It's been fine since. Try that. gjpope
Thanks for your help. Sorry to be dim, but you mean reprogram the controller? Best wishes Glyn
GoingUnderground
....you mean reprogram the controller?... No. The decoder that's fitted inside the engine. You can only do that if you have a DCC controller and base station. Does your layout work off DC or DCC? What make and model is the loco? What make and model is your controller?
