Edge
Hello All, Just wanted to ask on here if anybody had experience with wheelchairs and disabled facilities on the Bala Lake Railway? Myself and a disabled friend are hoping to visit in August and I was wondering how things were, as there isn't any info about it on their website. If it makes any difference, we are going to be starting our journey from the station closest to Bala itself. Thanks all, Edge
Adrian
When we were there last year I'm sure i noticed a couple of wheelchairs users being helped onto the train, in fact DDG first link is one on disabled holiday info and Bala Lake Railway. http://www.disabledholidayinfo.org.uk/search/searchdetail.cfm?EstID=874 It seems the recommendation is to start at Llanuwchllyn, the station furthest from Bala. Probably best to ring them directly and ask the current status of facilities, it's a delightful little line with some great views along the lake.
