spackz
Morning, I have a rake of the older Dapol tooled grain hoppers, after reading Chris Nevards blog I fancy getting them up to a decent standard (I cant justify a new rake of Bachy hoppers). Does anyone know where I can get a good detailing set for the underframe of these wagons, braking gear, rodding and release wheels etc. Regards Paul
hmrspaul
Paul Don't overlook that Nevard ignored that they are too short - there is mention on Bachmann discussion of rebuilding the Hornby Dublo grain wagon more accurately. Paul
spackz
Thanks Paul, I did read that Chris goes for the look and feel of the grain hopper, thats all I can really do as well. I have found mainly trains etches that will be suitable for the underframe and brakes, they also do an etch of multiple handwheels. To buy a rake of Bachmann hoppers will cost more than £150 and I have alot on pre-order over the coming months.
