BR fitted Plate wagons- SPV

Recommended Posts

I've built several of these, using a combination of Parkside body and floor mouldings, and cut'n'shut Chivers 21t mineral chassis. I've now got to the stage of fitting vacuum cylinders, and am wondering whether it should be one or two per wagon, as it's not very clear from the drawings I've got, or from the photos on the usual sites.

Thanks in advance for any light that can be thrown on this.

Hi Brian,

From the photos I've seen and given the build dates and the distinct lack of changeover levers I'd suggest one cylinder.

This photo on Paul Bartlett's website shows only one cylinder:

as does this one:

Any chance of posting a few pics of your kit bashing efforts?

Justin

Thanks for that, Justin- I suspected as much. I'll have a word with Lynne about doing some photos of the SPVs, and the ever-increasing fleet of MDOs.
