Torr Giffard LSWR 1951-71
Aft'noon all, For those who haven't made it to one of these fabulous 'up close & personal' live music events yet...the 2013 season is under way. I managed to get tickets for Alfie Boe last year (my wife's singing hero)..he actually wandered amongst the small audience whilst performing his songs. This year we're kicking off with my wife's choice... 'The Military Wives choir' tomorrow night. Bellowhead is our second show and the choice of our friends, followed by the 'Sixties night' (as a treat for my mum) to round off our 3 for this year. Best acts so far for me have been 'Bjorn again'.. the outstanding Abba tribute group and 'The Houghton Weavers' folk group. The grandstand is covered and given good weather a picnic between the lake and the hall is compulsory. Excellent value for money. Dave

RMweb Gold Savoyard Posted July 20, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 20, 2013 A few years ago I went to see a very good production of 'The Yeomen of the Guard'. They used the hall as the tower, it was very well done.
