Twright
You could make the section of scenery removable and when it has been opened up you should fix it down with screws (or similar) and hide the fixings with small shed or some thing.
kev
You could make the section of scenery removable and when it has been opened up you should fix it down with screws (or similar) and hide the fixings with small shed or some thing. kev
The idea behind the layout was to build some easy to use simple to set up and put away and a bit of fun for home use as well building to show standards .Showing that you do not have to spend lots of money to build a model railway all the art work used is free from different web sites such as http://www.wordsworthmodelrailway.co.uk which i know is 00 so i re size them on the printer ,i wanted to use up bits from my useful cupboard which a lot of us have the most expensive part is the tool box but i got 3 for less than £30 so a layout box /stock box /tool box so over to you kev
kev
A bit work done on the layout back scene in place with my own art work for the sky a track change and play about with the engine shed but did not like it so put it back where it was road now done with the help of http://www.wordsworthmodelrailway.co.uk/i know they are done in 00 but rescale them on the printer so far no bits have been purchased of the railway bits they were all in that cupboard that we all seem to have marked may come in useful one day so a cheap layout so far only the tool box was the only buy .Comments good or bad always welcome kev
Twright
I prefer the repositioned shed. You could put another industry in the yard now (nuclear sidings for example).
kev
Good idea never thought of that so a little break for bank holiday weekend then getting Goseunderton ready for Grantham show so a bit busy for next fortnight but will give the glue time to set kev
kev
A few ideas of how the layout may be taken forward Do i do this or maybe this What a choice my own thoughts are for a yard at the bake and simple loco service/refuel in the middle with single train unit on a shuttle serving the station at the front
Twright
Personally I prefer the open yard as it will allow you to have cameos and a place for the road to go. What you decide to put on it is your choice but have it 'in keeping' with the size and amount of sidings - don't try to fit a large sit with many sidings in to a small space with two sidings - I think a nuclear depot would be a good idea though. kev
Thanks for the input still playing with ideas so i want it to look right have found a smaller shed in my useful cupboard might give it a try but will next week before i get back on the layout as getting Goseunderton my show layout ready for Grantham show 7/8 Sept so if that way on stop and say hello kev
kev
Found this shed in the useful cupboard think it looks better than the peco one what do you think What do you folks think kev
Twright
It looks better - a 50s/60s industrial shed. I think it works well and doesn't overpower the rest of the area. More pics?
kev
Not yet getting my other layout Goseunderton ready for Grantham show next weekend a couple of pictures for you so a bit of a tidy up clean track and check lighting rig Kev

kev
Nice layout. Do I spy Thomas and others. You sure do took some finding though about 2 years but got what is available Tomix models from Japan over scale for British N gauge but allow a bit more clearance and you will be fine, nice thing about a show when they go round is the look on peoples faces but rule one is applied if any adverse comments made. kev
kev
First fix now done so now on to the hard part turning it from a lump of paper and card into a model railway this part always takes me along time but it the best part for me so now for all the fine bits to do, i happy with how the layout looks with the buildings so to work. any comments or ideas still welcome, and as i have said before cost of doing the layout is taken in to account only things brought have been the tool box and loco shed but that was a trade in with stock that did not fit in with my modeling time period. kev
Twright
That is a good place for the shed and it fits in well.
