DavidB-AU
The heavy lift ship BBC CAROLINA sailed from the Port of Brisbane today bound for Durban with 20 ex-Aurizon locomotives in the hold. The load appeared to be a mix of 1720 and 2150 class locos. Queensland Times has pics of 2159 being loaded. http://www.qt.com.au/news/old-trains-make-tracks-and-head-to-south-africa/1993558/ This is the second batch to go. The first batch went in March, consisting of 14 x 1720 class, 3 x 2100 class, 13 x 2600 class (the entire class) and 3 x 3100 class plus cannibalised parts and bogies from 6 others. For fans in South Africa, BBC CAROLINA is due in Durban in mid September. Cheers David
