Moorings to you,                       hope you had an enjoyable Easter break, whatever, you did.

A brief account of my signal trial at DP platform 1 (north).

I purchased a Distant signal from  Matt  A.A. @ Alexandra Place model railway exhibition.

I also purchased another   SC1  as I will be feeding the signal supply from the Dcc accessory bus from the Esu Command station.

Today, amongst other job's,  will be reducing the brightness of the signal leds, via the SC1 pcb.

The distant signal, is go  elsewhere on the layout, (the approach to Harbour tunnel south).

The trail dummy,no leds,

It sits in there really well doesn't it? ;)

I've just finished reading Doughnut's Minsterley thread, and now what with that,  yours and Terry's Glebe road, I'm so tempted to go modern image!

Moorings',    Hope you enjoy your weekend.

After a few attempt's at re adjusting the wheel contacts on the motor bogie and dummy power car,I finally got the 6 car Javelin (HS1) running at it's top speed,

for the grandad son's day visit, yesterday.   :heat:

I would prefer to run this, along with a couple of full length Eurostars',  in an ex Airship Hangar, could  put,  Manston, runway   to good use

I have had thoughts' (only), about contacting Hornby, Eurostar and Dover Harbour Board, in using Dover Marine station,(now a Cruise Terminal).

in running a full length Eurostar, on a weekend when there are no cruise ship's in.

In the past week, or more, a rewire of the whole layout, test of a signal purchase a couple of different detection boards, for the esu.

,         I have now 3 ground position signal's  to try, which I bought from  Matt  A.Aspects, a year and a half ago, at Newark.

Oh ground signals !!!!!!!!!

:)

Err, yes Anthony, are you still using Hand Signal's, on your layout ?   :scratchhead:

Very smart looking "ground signals" David :senile:

Thanks for posting, "66"... your layout's are coming on well, still no sign's of bramble's though.

Slow thinking and progress,in the last few day's.  But,

I had to do a bit of a hatchet job on the utility cupboard side wall,to open the arch by 1/2 an inch,

then carefully open it up on the b/scene,with it's 5mm foam board backing.

You should notice, that I vacuumed out, all of the dry laid ballast.

The section of Wills' Flexi-brick, I trailed, was not flexible enough, so, have used,SE Finecast brick profile

for the tunnel lining.

Moorings' to you.

Thought you might like this pic of a class 71 at DP DT.

From the Hornby website.

attachicon.gifClass71.jpg

Better start saving, there are 73s due this year from Dapol too!

Is that third section in place yet Mr T ??? or is that why you are not answering the phone :) ... are you stuck under board three ??

Nice base board construction there David....

More good work David... :paint: :senile:

Looking forward to the new area, dt

and the kit is already looking rather "French"  ...    :sungum:  :sungum:

My thanks for taking time to post........... :mail:

Another email from AndyH, this morning, the aerial pic, shews how DP, has changed, since the 80's and NSE day's.

This first one of 47301 was a bit of a scoop. Went down just to use a roll of film up one Sunday afternoon. All the locos had gone by Monday evening and the sidings were ripped up over the next week, as was the adjacent old station car park (see "arial" shots). The area was then relaid in its current configuration for EMU stabling - they had previously been berthed at Western Docks.

You might notice from some of the shots in DP yard the short lengths of  third rail. Pure speculation but I guess for charging the batteries on MLVs.

Andy.
