RMweb Gold ngtrains.com Posted August 31, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 31, 2013 Both will work - you choose. Personally would use Kadee's but the standard whisker couplers and not the scale ones. I tried the scale ones. I thought they looked undersized on NG stock and they also tended to uncouple more on some poor track our group layout had back when I tried them. Also the new whiskers, 140 to 149, are a better coupler than the old #5 and its different length/height friends (many of which are now discontinued. On the Slim Rails vehicles I built I used an 8BA bolt with a half depth nut to fasten them on. In a van a cheese head screw would do, in a open I countersunk a hole in the floor used a countersunk screw and hid it with load or gunge
