sagaguy Posted March 23, 2015 Share Posted March 23, 2015 I remember making my own point motors for these points as they were sprung blades & you needed a locking point motor to keep the blades closed.The only locking motors available at the time,very early 1960`s,were H&M which were very expensive.The design was in a Railway Modeller & at that time,getting metal tubing was quite difficult in small quantities.Still,they worked after a fashion,i don`t know how many amps the home built coils took but they gave a satisfying flash on the switch lever,these were the days before capacitor discharge units.Building these led me into rudimentary model engineering which progressed into live steam 5" gauge loco building.
