Debs.
I`ve assembled some Alan Gibson LMS/BR straight-shank buffers for my 7mm. scale Hunslet diesel build. The buffers as fitted to the real loco. were very large round-head versions of same; I have some disc-blanks (flat/etched) of suitable size, but wonder how best to form the heads into the approprate evenly-domed shape to solder onto the smaller Gibson heads. I have tried annealing some test discs, but I can`t see how I`m going to form a tidy 'dome' simply by hand dapping into a dished wooden hollow................any ideas or technique suggestions would be welcomed please. black5f
Old brass drawing pins. Have used them for years. My supply is running out and on a recent visit to a staionary shop all I could find were modern ones, 50% are not even round. Just an idea. Debs.
Thank you, Tom......... that`s a brilliant suggestion; I`m off now to raid the house drawers, to see if I can find four of the same type/shape!
