Matador Posted September 24, 2013 Share Posted September 24, 2013 I have installed BEMO Couplers on my SLIMRAILS 16.5 Goods wagons as an alternative to KADEES, i tried to use KADEES but found I had to cut out part of the wagon ends to get them to fit. The BEMO # 5010 fits right onto the supplied Box and although they coupled together easily i had difficulty uncoupling them. The Solution seeing as all stock will never be turrned around, was to removed one loop from one of the couplers per wagon I then attached a small magnet to a piece of plastic tubing and that became my shunters pole. I can know uncouple by hand when and where I need to, the layout will only be 12' long so I think it will be an added bonus to prototypical operation. Southwold Posted September 26, 2013 Share Posted September 26, 2013 Ingenious! I have a small amount of stock which as yet cannot be run...every single piece is without couplings. I have dithered over which one to go for and the benefits of each are compelling, but having previously modelled in OO9, I did like the standard OO9 couplings. This could be the way for me too!
