Irishswissernie Posted October 3, 2013 Share Posted October 3, 2013 I have uploaded a new set to Flickr covering this small station on the Turgi to Koblenz route. Siggenthal is also the site of a large HOLCIM Cement Works generating a huge amount of traffic which at times threatens to overwhelm the capacity of the station to handle it. Freight is worked (or used to be) away in fairly small trainloads eminently suitable for modelling, mainly to Limmatt yard beyong Turgi. There is however a regular daily working to Basel Munchenstein Holcim northwards via Koblenz, reversing there to continue via the freight only line to Stein-Sackingen. Gordonwis Posted October 18, 2013 Share Posted October 18, 2013 I visited Siggenthal twice in a few days in September as the star surviving Ae6/6 was on an almost daily diagram including the Holcim train during early September.
